What is Link Building Outreach and how can it help me?

Link Building Outreach Know-How

Link Building Outreach is the process of getting links just like link building. However, the process is slightly different. Inbound Links received from another website plays a vital role in SEO. They are valuable because they help your website rank higher in search engines.

Link Building is about connecting with individuals, brands and other websites and in turn, increases awareness and visibility about your brand.

The best way to get good backlinks is to publish quality content that other publishers would like to share on their platforms.

One of the ways to get backlinks is through link building email outreach. But how do you ensure that you do it right, that you’re not forcing your content to another publisher?

Let’s understand a few Link Building Outreach rules:

  1. Find people who might be interested in your content:

The most important step is to find the right people.  Start by going a simple keyword search. Do a keyword search for a simple keyword that you use on your website and select the search results that you like. You can decide based on the engagement level of the blogs and how frequently they post.  Make a list of authors and bloggers and get the first name and their email address.

  1. Pitch to influencers:

Now is the time to send to start reaching out to influencers. There are several ways you can reach out to influencers. One way is to ask them if they would like to write for your website.  This gives them an opportunity to expand their reach as well as yours. Another way to reach out is to email them. Now, this has to be done carefully, don’t just send out an email just like that. The first thing to do is to let them know if they would like to receive a piece of content that you have written. The idea is to ensure that the email is genuine and whether the reader would like to take the conversation forward.

  1. Follow up:

Personalize each email and don’t send bulk emails.  It’s important to craft each email before sending it out rather than using a template. It’s a good idea to wait for 2-3 days before you receive a response.  If you receive a response immediately, great! If you don’t, you can send a follow-up email. The follow-up email should also be carefully drafted. Multiple follow-ups will make you a spammer, following up once and that’s it.  It’s good to follow-up but do it judiciously.

If you’re not sure how to go about the email, I have a few samples for you that you can refer to.
